Orange Blossom and Mint Lemonade

It’s still sunny and warm in London, yay, lemonade for everyone!

I love lemonade. It’s refreshing, sweet, comforting, citrusy and tangy.

In Morocco the majority of the houses that have a backyard, all have one thing in common. They all have a lemon tree. Really, and I have been to many homes in Morocco. My parents love to grow stuff, I mean fruits, vegetables and herbs so I’d expect them to have a lemon tree, but why almost everyone does? Maybe it’s just a coincidence. I should investigate this anyway.

When we were kids, my aunts and my mum used to make lemonade very often, I guess it was due to the large supply of lemons. Lemonade reminds me of afternoons spent at my aunts with my cousins eating way too much cake and drinking lemonade. Good old times!

Yesterday, I made lemonade for the first time. Making lemonade is the easiest thing to do but somehow it made me feel like a grown up. I mean like a mama who serves lemonade and cake in the afternoon to their kids.

I added a bit of orange blossom water and lots of mint leaves to the lemonade to give it a sweet aroma and a refreshing kick. It was really really delicious!
